Artist Residency in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, Montana
This past August, I completed a week-long Artist in Residence program with the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Foundation where I hiked, drew, identified plant species, and made handmade paper on site from responsibly collected materials.
The Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness is protected area of nearly a million acres on the Montana-Wyoming border, and the largest generally intact ecosystem in the temperate world.
I was lucky enough to be situated deep in the mountain range at the Box Canyon Cabin forest ranger station, hours away from the world of blogging and light-switches. To say the experience was unforgettable is an understatement.
